Colour, side position and large code follow the project key so observers can record an individual without recapture. The project approves species fit and colour combination before viewing distance, characters, side or position, code list and packing. Unmarked colour rings supplied in controlled colour, size and left/right combinations. Plain colour combination rings identify individuals or groups through an approved colour sequence rather than engraved characters. Accurate colour allocation and packing are central to the project.
